By doing this, our service connects the family to Costa Rica and promotes the local culture.

Investigate responsible travel - to ensure that this growing travel sector is having positive effects on wildlife and local communities in Costa Rica.

User Journey & Stakeholder Analysis
Key Finding: The analyses revealed that local institutions are not sufficiently involved in promoting responsible tourism and animal protection, and that poor information dissemination leads to a lack of understanding of responsible tourism among tourists.

Key Finding
Vague definition of
“responsible travel”
The concept of "responsible tourism" currently seems vague to many people.
Passive learning about animal information
Most animal-related learning is done in a passive way and many people are not really engaged.
Insufficient family activity involvement
There is a lack of family-friendly volunteer and interactive activities in their tourism experience.
Lack of recognition of
Costa Rica's biodiversity
Many people do not know that Costa Rica is also one of the most biodiverse regions on earth.
Main Problem
Families with children travelling to Costa Rica often face confusion due to unclear and unattractive information and a lack of interactive activities. This reduced their engagement in being responsible for the animals.

hypothesIS
if we can provide an engaging story of wildlife protection
then family groups will learn why it's important and know how to be responsible
Strategy
We will communicate the information using story telling as a learning activity to encourage behavioral changes toward more responsible habits.
Vision
Create long term positive changes on wildlife protection with tourists in Costa Rica
Case study & Test
Our intent is to interact with families through storytelling and to increase their understanding of Costa Rica culture and animal protection.
Based on the responses of current participants and their post-testing perceptions, we aim to measure the potential success of our initiative.
